50 years of MIDO

The countdown to the next MIDO, which will take place from 29 February to 2 March in the halls of Milan’s Fiera Rho, has begun.

This year marks the 50th anniversary for MIDO, the leading international Optics, Optometry and Ophtalmology trade fair that has grown to become the largest eyewear fair in the world. Last year, almost 60,000 visitors came to see the products on display from exhibitors from 159 different countries, and this anniversary year should be even more spectacular.

The exhibition halls are organised to present all of the latest trends as well as the technology of the future, and a catwalk show stresses the glamorous side of the fair, a firm favourite amongst celebrities already. “A packed calendar of events is in the works for 2020,” teases Giovanni Vitaloni, MIDO’s President. “We want to involve the entire industry – companies, opticians, buyers, the media and institutions – for a proper celebration of the Gold Edition.”
