Announcing the recipients of the 2020 IACLE Awards

Until the restrictions concerning COVID-19 have been lifted, IACLE (the International Association of Contact Lens Educators) has recognised the recipients of the 2020 IACLE Contact Lens Educator of the Year Awards online, celebrating their achievements in contact lens education worldwide.

Contact lens educators from six countries – India, Malaysia, South Africa, the US, UK and Venezuela – will attend meetings to receive their awards once the situation allows it, but until then, they can be proud of receiving this prestigious award, sponsored by CooperVision and supported by the American Academy of Optometry.

Professor Renée Reeder, of the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Optomtery in the USA, was awarded the IACLE Americas Contact Lens Educator of the Year award. “This is such exciting news and such and incredible honour,” she commented. “I am so thankful to know that I have colleagues all over the world with the same struggles, who are always willing to share and help. I hope that I can serve as a resource for them as well.”
