The World Council of Optometry (WCO) has announced the second in a series of dry eye disease webinars, set for 31 January. The education session will be led by three professors: James Wolffsohn of Aston University, UK; Jennifer Craig of the University of Auckland, New Zealand and Lyndon Jones of the University of Waterloo, Canada.
They are set to explore the signs and symptoms of dry eye and how to confirm diagnosis. The experts will share evidence-based, practical methods for adopting measurement techniques, available without buying new instruments. It includes a live interactive chat. Register here.
Professor Wolffsohn said, “The main thing that I want viewers of this webinar to take away is how important it is to get involved in mitigating, measuring, and managing dry eye. Twenty to 30 percent of your patients likely suffer from dry eye. You can offer them so much relief and improve their quality of life by understanding what they’re experiencing, making a clear diagnosis, and delivering really simple treatment.”
The webinar will be independently presented in different time zones on Tuesday 31 January: 5pm GMT and HKT/SST; 6pm CET; 6pm PST.
The first webinar in the series is available here, where the 31 January session will also be available after the event. Led by Professor Craig, it focused on understanding the prevalence and causes of dry eye, risk factors, and how to triage patients. The website also features tools and resources based on mitigation, measurement, and management.
