SILMO 2020 has been cancelled - long live SILMO Hors les Murs !

Since the beginning of the health crisis, SILMO has made clear commitments and established extensive measures to protect and guide the industry throughout this particularly difficult period.


However, now that the date for the proposed edition of SILMO Paris 2020 approaches, a difficult announcement has been made : although everything seemed to point towards a successful postponement to October in Paris, at this juncture there are still uncertainties as to whether the trade fair would be able to take place as planned. And so, in the absence of immediate visibility, the SILMO Executive Board met with its partner COMEXPOSIUM, and took the unfortunate decision to cancel the Silmo 2020 Paris event as it was planned to take place.

There is good news, though. The 2020 Silmo d’Or awards will still go forward, open to all the companies registered to date. And in a bid to continue to promote the industry, SILMO will set out to meet opticians in France and throughout Europe, from October to November 2020, in a series of events called “Silmo Hors les Murs” (“Silmo Outside the Walls”). The first event will take place on 4 and 5 October 2020, in Paris, and will be repeated every Monday in October, each time in a different city.
