More than 27,000 visitors attended this year’s SILMO trade fair in Paris, from 23 to 26 September.
Half were from beyond France, representing 146 different countries. There were 750 exhibitors showcasing all aspects of the industry, from frames, lenses and technical materials to brands, services and more.
Show chair Amélie Morel said: “These figures demonstrate the appeal of SILMO Paris, a leading trade fair that remains an international platform for business and a hub of interaction for all the professionals in the optical and eyewear industry.”
Prizes for the 29th SILMO d’Or were awarded in 12 different categories, from children’s to sunglasses. For a full list of winners, see SILMO d’Or
New for 2022, the winner of the Optical Design Competition was Adi Abramov, a student at Shenkar College, Ramat Gan, Israel. His project Unfoldable X featured optical and sunglasses with a minimalist and sharp aesthetic. The frames were made of recycled plastic, without screws or hinges.
