
Silmo Paris 2023 has announced it will launch a prize for businesses making progress in social and environmental responsibility.
The winner of the Responsible Company Award will be announced at the show, running from 29 September to 2 October at Paris Nord Villepinte.
Amelie Morel, president of Silmo Paris, said the Responsible Company prize was “more than a competition”, it is “an encouragement to emulate good Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices in the field of optometry”.
The Silmo IOA Optician of the Year will also be revealed. More than 400 exhibitors will attend from 43 countries. The show includes the Silmo Academy by IOA education meeting and the Silmo d’Or Awards.
Silmo’s commitment to CSR is outlined in the latest in a series of podcasts leading up to the show. Dominique Royet, co-founder and managing director of CSR agency Hysopp talks about how the optical industry affects the environment and what it can do to limit the damage.
