The 50th edition of MIDO will now take place from 5-7 July 2020

Originally scheduled from 29 February to 1 March, the 50th edition of leading international eyewear event MIDO had to be postponed due to the current concerns about the COVID-19 virus.

The event’s organisers have now announced new dates to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the fair in Milan: Sunday 5 to Tuesday 7 July 2020, subject to any new provisions of the competent authority on the health crisis and the evolution of the national and international situation.

“After the decision to postpone MIDO, the wisdom of which we are ever more convinced of after seeing how the emergency has escalated in the past few days and the relative precautions adopted by the Italian government, we have worked nonstop in the last 72 hours to be able to define the new dates, carefully chosen to meet the needs of the sector,” commented Giovanni Vitaloni, MIDO’s president. “At this difficult time, our industry must react compactly to events and everyone must do their part. We have all suffered serious damage and unforeseen expenses as a result of the COVID-19 virus outbreak and the subsequent change of dates of MIDO.”
