BCLA UK conference will be live-streamed across the world

Eye care practitioners from around the world will be able to attend the British Contact Lens Association’s showcase event of 2020 without leaving their own practice – thanks to the power of technology.

BCLA UK, held at The Vox at Resorts World in Birmingham on 14 June, will be broadcast live around the world thanks to the internet, and will feature a raft of interactive elements aimed to engage audiences ‘attending’ from wherever they are in the world.

The event will have a strong focus on education, combining lectures and hands-on workshops. A compere will introduce the live-streaming and online viewers will have the opportunity to hear from key speakers and delegates.

“The key focus of the event will be on promoting best practice to maximise success with modern contact lenses, including confidence with Speciality Contact Lens Practice to include myopia management and management of Dry Eye disease,” says BCLA’s president, Jonathon Bench. “We are excited to welcome a ‘virtual audience’ to BCLA UK and the live-streaming element will add a whole new dimension to the event and allow more people than ever before to access our education streams.”

Live streaming sessions will be accessed via a dedicated BCLA UK micro-site which will allow users to access sessions either in real-time or later after the event ‘on demand’. For more information, visit www.bcla.org.uk.
