Next year’s 100% Optical show will feature a bigger focus on contact lenses than ever before in recognition of the sector’s growing value.

More than 10,000 optical professionals from around the globe are expected to attend the three-day event. It returns to ExCeL London from 25-27 February 2023, featuring over 200 exhibitors and a CPD programme. CooperVision, Johnson & Johnson, Bausch & Lomb and Safilens are all confirmed exhibitors.

Nearly one in five contact wearers in Europe are in the UK, making it the largest market in Europe, worth over £700m.

Nathan Garnett, show director, said: “The increased presence of contact lens manufacturers at 100% Optical in 2023 reflects not only the growth of this sector, but also feedback from visitors, who are eager to improve their knowledge and offering in this area.”

Dr Rachel Hiscox, Johnson & Johnson Vision professional education and development manager, UK & Ireland, said: “Supporting excellence in patient care is fundamental to what we do, so we are thrilled to have an exciting CPD timetable planned.” That includes a lecture on the main stage on Saturday, six CPD sessions on the AOP stand across the weekend and an interactive poster trail.

Coopervision is exhibiting at the show for the first time. Christina Olner, head of professional affairs, UK & Ireland, said: “We have a really exciting proposition on stand that will encourage delegates to reconsider the way they manage their contact lens patients; we want to incorporate their ideas and experiences as we build a programme that redefines the traditional approach to contact lens management.

“We’re delivering 13 hours of CPD workshops and lectures across all three days, covering myopia management, presbyopia and a fresh approach to the contact lens patient journey.”

Visitor registration is now live 100percentoptical2023 as are entries for the Love Eyewear Awards at loveeyewearawards
