European PMS providers combine

Three of the largest European PMS providers – iPro, Amparex and Optix Software – have joined up to create a business supporting more than 7,000 optical and audiology sites.

The Evex Group will retain Trevor Rowley (pictured) as managing director of Optix Software, working alongside current directors, Andrew Harrison, Lee Atkinson and Tom Bean.

The new firm “is the clear market leader in the German-speaking PMS-world”, said Dr Toni Schmidt, Evex Group chief executive. “Being able to welcome the leading UK player to the group is genuinely thrilling. From my first conversation with Trevor, it was clear to me that Optix would be the ideal match for our two existing PMS providers, Amparex and IPRO.

“The three companies will profit immensely from combining their individual strengths and expertise. This will enable us to deliver the best systems and services to our customers today and in the future.”

Trevor said: “I am truly excited to be part of this project and will continue to be leading Optix Software for the foreseeable future. Aside from the additional scale and security this provides for our customers and staff, the news is particularly exciting for the development team at Optix.

“We plan to create a single pan-European PMS product, which will be built using our cutting edge Optix 2 technology with appropriate bespoke extensions for the different market requirements.”
