First ODA Mini Conference in Perth

The inaugural Optical Dispensers Australia Mini Conference, held in Perth on 11 September and sponsored by Rodenstock, welcomed over 50 guests and delegates from a variety of sectors, who were treated to talks by industry heavyweights such as Don Ezekiel, the founder of Gelflex, contact lens expert Sujan Hong, from Alcon and lens coatings and biometric eye modelling specialists Mikaela Bartlam, from Tokai Optical, and Nicola Peaper, from Rodenstock. There was also an eye-opening presentation about the importance of safety glasses by Hoya’s Jack Layland, and a Q&A troubleshooting session with Neilsen De Souza, from UWA.

Buoyed by its success, the team behind the mini-conference is already working on creating another. When pressed for more information, they replied: “Something big is coming to Sydney in 2023, so watch this space!”
