First SEE Summit speaker announced

The first speaker for the SEE Summit 2023, which aims to promote environmental sustainability, has been announced. Dr Nick Watts is NHS chief sustainability officer, responsible for the commitment to deliver a world-class net zero emissions health service in the UK.

Nick is a medical doctor licensed in Australia and the UK, an adjunct professor at the University of Notre Dame, US, and a fellow of the UK Royal College of Physicians’ Faculty of Public Health.

Before joining the NHS, Nick was the executive director of the Lancet Countdown and the Lancet Commission on Health and Climate Change, a collaboration of UN agencies and academic centres across the world. He has focused on engaging the health profession on the links between public health and climate change.

He founded both the Global Climate and Health Alliance and the UK Health Alliance on Climate Change.
