Record-breaking crowds at 100 per cent Optical

More than 10,000 people attended the UK’s largest optical event – a 10% year-on-year increase on last year and a new record.

The three-day show ran from 25 to 27 February, featuring exhibitor launches, more independent and international designers than ever before, an education programme of CPD seminars, catwalk shows and awards. Attendees were joined by celebrity guest, chef Dame Prue Leith (pictured right) known for her dramatic eyewear.

The Association of Optometrists (AOP) said: “During the show, we’ve been over subscribed and there’s been queues for our education sessions. It’s been super busy and we have received lots of really interesting queries from members and non-members.”

Nathan Garnett, event director, said: “From a massive uplift in visitor numbers to the greatest range of top brands in attendance, we couldn’t be happier with the results. The testimonials and re-books for 2024 give us the motivation to keep growing this show for the benefit of everyone in optics.”

Eyecare company Specsavers said: “This show allows us to reach the whole sector and show them what we are doing, engage with colleagues through our fab CPD sessions, see friends and make friends.”

Eyewear firm William Morris said: “We always look forward to the show’s fashion elements and that’s why we love it here.”

Next year’s 10th anniversary dates have been confirmed for 24 to 26 February 2024. The AOP announced their partnership to deliver 100% Optical has been extended until 2025.

Show organisers have also announced a new dedicated 100% ophthalmology section for 2024 and an education programme with more content for ophthalmologists. Find 100% Optical on social media @100optical #100optical.
