Opti wants to hear from you about the future of the sector. The international trade show is developing an optical trend report to identify developments in the eyecare market and establish the future direction of travel.
A comprehensive survey on 31 trends across five areas runs until Saturday, 30 September. It is open to everyone working in optics.
Cathleen Kabashi, the new director of Opti in Munich, said companies have to stay ahead: “it is important for every industry participant to realistically assess the technological, societal, and social developments specific to optics. What will come, how and when? These are the questions that the trend radar should answer! For this, it needs the assessment of the trends by as broad a mass as possible.”
The fields covered include work, technology, communication, sustainability and eye health. Topics range from active ageing and zero waste to myopia management and smart glasses.
“The more industry heads who contribute their knowledge to the creation of the Opti Trend Radar, the better! We have the chance to create an industry navigator for all those working in optics - as a guarantee to be and remain competitive in these rapidly changing times,” said Mirjam Rösch, chairwoman, consumer optics, Spectaris Berlin.
Cathleen Kabashi added the results will benefit the entire sector: “They serve as a concrete compass for action for both opticians and the industry.”
The trend report will be launched at Opti Munich, 12–14 January. Respondents will be entered into a competition for free tickets for their company to the show, or free entrance and drinks to the VIP lounge.
