Registration has opened for the first-ever British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) conference to be held in China.

BCLA Asia, organised together with the West China International Myopia Control and Eye Care Symposium, will cover topics including myopia control, dry eye management, contact lens care and specialty lenses.

The in-person event takes place 8–9 March 2024, at Chengdu New Exhibition International Conference Center in Sichuan province. It will feature the latest research and clinical guidance, hands on opportunities to try out industry-leading products, and the chance to hear about innovations and future strategies.

BCLA chief executive Luke Stevens-Burt said: “We’re delighted to be hosting this event in China for the first time and looking forward to delivering an engaging and relevant programme that covers some of the most important topics in our field.

“The conference is an opportunity to continue the growth of the eye health industry in the region and enhance delegates’ knowledge and skills to benefit eye health. Along with the sharing of best practice, there will be plenty of opportunities to network with colleagues and the wider contact lens and anterior eye community.”

Sessions will be held in both English and Mandarin. Delegates can apply for a BCLA Fellowship – submissions close 30 November.

Registration Professionals living in China must register in-person at the venue. All other delegates can visit the BCLA to register online in advance. There are plans to offer a three to six night tour following the conference if enough delegates demonstrate an interest.
